Aylsham Farmer’s Market is the 3rd Saturday of the month (morning only)

Norwich Farmer’s Market is 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month in front of the “proper” market on Gentleman’s Walk.

The Green Grocers, Earlham Road Norwich - Fantastic shop selling inspirational organic and local food. Winners of the 2007 EDP Food awards for best Farmer’s Market.  They were our very first retailer for our pork pies and remain a complete delight to work with.  Click here for their website. 01603 250000

Picnic Fayre Cley-Next-The-Sea, North Norfolk. Run since 1984 by John and Vicky Pryor. You won’t leave empty handed. Apart from our pies, Sarah reckons they sell the best uncooked chorizo in Norfolk (possibly outside Spain) and has long loved their lavender focaccia bread - which is gorgeous and savoury in a fragrant rosemary-ish way. Back to the Garden - Letheringsett, Holt, North Norfolk. A very popular farm shop on the main road between Holt and Fakenham. The shop is a pleasure to visit for a lot of reasons but the incredible 18th century barn conversion that it’s housed in is definitely one. Mannington Hall Gardens, North Norfolk. One of Norfolk’s most beautiful houses, seat of the Walpole family and surrounded by a moat. The Greedy Goose tea rooms source the best of Norfolk food and chef Helen’s team bake delicious cakes in house. They are open Sundays 12-5 until the first week in June then Wednesday ,Thursday, Friday & Sunday until September.

 

Bakers and Larners of Holt, North Norfolk - Famous as the Harrods Food Hall of East Anglia. The Bakers family have been in the main shop since 1760 and gradually expanded into a multi site department store, neatly contained in a small and perfectly formed Georgian town. Blakeney Deli, High Street, Blakeney. Great food and a very fine selection of wines. Run by Rob and a good excuse for a couple of pictures of beautiful Blakeney.

Stiffkey Stores - Stiffkey, North Norfolk. As our friend Kate Sullivan so accurately says on her blog “I'd heard very complimentary words about the new owners, Andy and Alice, but I hadn't expected it to be quite so damned attractive.” The stores is a beautiful shop with wonderfully chosen goods, from home made cakes to irresistible home wares. And a garden for coffee. They also have good parking - which in the narrow lane through Stiffkey is a necessity but actually a rare blessing. Click here for their website. 01328 830489

The Rumsey Wells pub - Norwich. The pub that used to be known as the St Andrew’s Tavern at the bottom of The Maddermarket. Now being run by the charming Danny Searle as a real ale pub. A pie and a pint - the perfect combo.

Pensthorpe Cafe, Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, Fakenham, North Norfolk. - Has to be one of our favourite places to deliver the pies to! Just in the few yards between the deliveries parking area and the cafe, we have to weave carefully through baby ducks and moorhens toddling ashore from the river. :the park cafe - Bawdeswell, North Norfolk. Lovely new cafe and gift shop - fantastic lunches! And all the profits go to varous charities. Getting a lot of word of mouth attention at the moment.

Rutland’s Butchers in Melton Constable, North Norfolk (our neighbouring village). One of the friendliest places you could find and holders of numerous awards. Delia’s website agrees too! Strattons Hotel Swaffham - One of Nell’s favourite treats is an overnight escape to Strattons. And their suppliers page on their website is effectively an A-Z of fabulous food. Well worth a browse. Click here and prepare to get a little hungry.

Green Pastures Farm Shop Bergh Apton - A garden centre with a very long history. Now run by James and Michelle, Green Acres was created by James’ grandfather. You might recognise James (who is also a writer and photographer) from his weekly gardening column in the Norwich Evening News. The garden centre now has a thriving Farm Shop too and they are baking the pies fresh on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Click here for their website

AT Thrower and Son in Ludham in the heart of The Norfolk Broads. A village store plus. Specialising in their own home-baked hams. Hornet Provisions - Chichester, West Sussex. An Aladdin’s cave of deli items. John’s daughter tasted one of our pies when she was on holiday on Norfolk and issued strict instructions for him to track them down.
